U SAD ovaj pridev se koristi da označi pripadnika bele rase. Iako je čest u upotrebi (i stoga bi ga trebalo znati) jezičari ga „ne vole“.

Značenje ovog prideva je evropeidna rasa koja podrazumeva: svetlu ili tamniju kožu, ravnu, meku ili talasastu kosau, tanke usne i uzak nos. Boja kose i očiju varira od svetlih do tamnih nijansi.
